SERGEI BEZKORVANY (Sergei Boris Bezkorovayny 29th September 1930 - 27th May 2010). Born in Toronto, he was the son of a Ukrainian immigrant family who settled in Canada in 1928. His parents soon moved to Winnipeg where he grew up and began to study the violin. As a young violin student at the Bomoff School of Music he entered the Manitoba Music Festival and won First Place playing the Mendelsohn Violin Concerto at the age of 13. In 1946 he was accepted at the Juilliard School of Music in New York as one of the youngest full-time students where he studied with Joseph Fuchs and chamber music with Louis Persinger. More Info
